Drill Bit Sharpening

Tried and tested under stringent conditions

and valued by a diverse group of tool users for

its exceptional protection to all metals. It is used

as a very effective defence against corrosion

and the effects of damp conditions for up to

two years, is easily wiped clean and is free from

silicone content. This is an outstanding product complying with

MOD and NATO standards.

Restore rusty steel and iron

components and tools.

1. Degreaser - A powerful

water-soluble formulation removes oil and grease from tools and

machinery. Used prior to de-rusting. Economical 250ml dilutes to

make up to 5 litres of solution.

2. Rust Remover - Non-acidic, water-based formula only removes

the rust and is harmless to plastics, rubbers and non-ferrous

metals. It protects against further corrosion. Dilute up to 20:1

using a polythene or stainless steel container as a de-rusting bath.

Degrease the item ﬁ rst, remove loose rust then suspend it in the

bath. Once clear of rust rinse, clean and dry.

3. Rust Remover Gel - To remove rust from larger surfaces such

as circular and bandsaw tables etc. Use the gel version of Restore

Rust Remover. Applied with a scouring pad (not supplied) it is

extremely fast working, in most cases taking a few minutes.

All the above products are biodegradable, non-toxic, water-based

formulations.

Imported from Japan, camellia oil

is a natural vegetable oil that has

been used for centuries by Japanese

craftsmen as protection against

corrosion. For practical purposes the natural camellia

oil is blended with other light oils to produce a low viscosity

protective oil. It has a pleasant smell and used regularly forms an

effective barrier against rust and corrosion. Available in a pump

spray bottle 240ml. For the more frugal, we also offer a camellia oil

applicator or Abura-Tsubo, which is like a giant felt tip marker as oil

soaks into the ‘nib’ by capillary action; simply unscrew the red cap

and use to paint a thin layer of protective oil onto a metal surface.

Made for removing light rust or tarnish and restoring a bright

metal ﬁ nish particularly to cast iron and steel. Garryﬂ ex is a block

approximately 80mm x 50mm x 20mm made of a rubber like

compound impregnated with silicon carbide abrasive particles.

Available in coarse 60g (Blue), medium 120g (Dk Grey) and ﬁ ne

240g (Brown). The blocks can be used dry but for best results use

a lubricant such as water, parafﬁ n, oil, camellia oil etc. (Do not use

WD40 or similar as these tend to eat away at the compound).

Garryﬂ ex blocks can also be cut to shape if necessary; the amount

of elbow grease used with this product is entirely optional.

pad starts emitting its protective vapour as soon as

you remove the lid of its container. Larger machines

speciﬁ cally for protecting steel and iron. It

contains a unique blend of powerful contact

corrosion inhibitors.

Drill Bit Sharpening

At last, a simple and effective drill bit sharpening machine which

is easy to operate and which will produce standard 118° drill

points accurately every time. The drill bit is clamped into the

movable carriage, advanced up to the grinding wheel and the

carriage is moved from left to right to produce an accurately

ground relief angle; a repeat operation with the carriage rotated

about its axis produces a perfectly matched second relief angle.

The carborundum wheel, which is rotated at 8,000rpm by the

quiet 85W motor, will sharpen carbon steel and high speed steel

bits from 3mm to 13mm in diameter. A dressing stone for re-

truing the wheel is included; full instructions are also supplied.

grinding wheel and

provides a convenient

way of re-sharpening drill points to the correct angle. Complete

with instructions for set-up and use. Full range of point angles

can be ground with correct angle and clearance for efﬁ cient

cutting. Capacity 3mm(1/8”) to 19mm(3/4”) bit diameter and

24m/sec with standard wheels. The slim housing facilitates the

grinding of long workpieces and includes an adapter to connect

a vacuum cleaner to the unit. The tool rests and eye guards are

both adjustable. A spindle lock eases the changing of wheels and

discs. Supplied with a 50mm x 13mm corundum (grade N) and

silicon carbide (soft compound) disc for general grinding and

AccuSharp Knife & Tool Sharpener

The sub-micron tungsten carbide blade sharpens to a smooth

ﬁ nish requiring very little force. Axes, hoes, knives of all sorts,

scissors, etc. are all suitable candidates. We found it particularly

useful for touching up utility knife blades. Half a dozen strokes on

each side brought the edge easily back to new if not better. The

slim tip is ideal for curved blades such as curved blade pruners.

Supplied with simple instructions, the folding blade, locks open,

the stainless-steel body has anodised aluminium scales with a

belt clip.
